Here's some potentially useful information, boys and girls; if you're ever in a majorly crowded public place and want some personal space, sit your ass down on the floor and have yourself one hell of a panic attack. People will create quite a bit of space while they walk past you. And if you happen to be in an airport and are freaking out about a flight longer than you know you can tolerate, the nice lady at the check-in counter will help your Spouse Thingy arrange for you to get on the next much-shorter flight home, and will get you a pre-boarding pass to get your asterisk onto that plane before you can get too worked up about having to fly again. She'll even arrange for your luggage to be transfered from the flight you were supposed to be on to the flight you're now going to be on.

Oh, sure, you'll feel like total crap for more than one reason and will spend the next couple of hours trying to hold your chit together, but you'll have had that personal space in the middle of a huge crowd.

I don't recommend it.

In other news, we are home and not in Texas where we intended to be. Mock me if you want, but be nice about it.

Ichiro will come give you nose kisses, unless you'd prefer to rub my belleh? We just want you to feel okay. Cause you know what? You are who are you and that's cool with us. And Max. So long as you write about him. And feed him real live dead shrimps. But he probably wouldn't need that if you hadn't started doing it anyway, right? Cause how would he KNOW?

I'm so sorry Karen. I hope you're feeling better now. Just remember, you didn't know any of those people and you'll never see them again. Most of them were sympathetic too, I'm sure. Nobody mocking you here!

I am agoraphobic and I totally understand what panic attacks can do to a person. There will be no mocking from here I assure you, just understanding.

My daughter was tired of her 3 year old daughter having falling down tantrums in the store, so she pulled one. THe kid walked over to her Mom as many people looked on and said ' Mom, get up, you are embarrassing me!' Her mom looked at her and said now you know how I feel. My daughter hates to fly and is terrified most of the way. I will have to tell her about your panic attach for her next trip!

What a trying experience! But thank the Lord there were kind and caring people all around you and you are now home safe. Don't look back, look forward! Lots of hugs and prayers!

Good on the responsive agent! As to the panic attack, these things happen and you certainly are not alone there. Also, Texas is only 3 days away by car, or two if you both drive and go for the long hours and all those McDs are less than an hour apart mostly.

Karen my heart goes out to you. Max would probably say it happened because you panicked about not getting home soon enough to bow and scrape to him. Humor aside, we just don't know when these things will descend on us...especially death. No matter how much you prepare and know it is coming even for an elderly parent, or a very ill friend, (in my case, sister) the actual event is still a kick in the gut. There is so much to deal with. Things can be so overwhelming and a bodily shut-down of sorts is totally understood. You can be the strong one who is there for everyone and everything, always in total control, the one everyone else looks to for strength and at times to have to shoulder that load once more just "breaks the camels back." (What an odd saying...)

No mocking here, just sympathy. I hope that you are feeling better now and will be able to get through all that you must do without any more panic attacks.

What a horrible, scary thing, and not mockworthy at all. We all could be there...that unresolved event or thing that sneaks up on us and takes over. Am glad you're home where you can pet the kitties and reflect.

Caboose gave MomBean lots of those while she was pregnant, and it took over a year after he was born for her to start to feel better.

I'm not usually a lovey cat, but for you.../headbumps. The Woman will hug you all day if she ever gets a chance.

To.mock anyone in this situation would be totally cruel. I too had a panic attack getting on a flight to attend our uncle's funeral. Those events are pretty commonthese days! You did your best with good intentions and it turned out that you changed a plan. So??? Your mom would understand and you are the one who counts! The people here truly understand. Trust.me!
