So, I did this today...after we went to see the new Star Trek movie (which was awesome and we're totally going to see it again.)
We didn't go far--just to Baskin Robbins for ice cream that there's a 95% chance I will regret later but the regret will be worth it--and then looped around town.
Baby steps.
Thing is, when I'm on the bike, there's no fear. It's the making myself get on it that sucks.
If we get a chance next week, barring weather, dental appointments, and the Spouse Thingy's likelihood of jury duty, we're taking a long ride. Don't yet know where we'll head, but I'm never going to shake the nerves if I don't get on and ride.

In other words, get back on the horse?
Hey I just noticed the strip at the top of the page with your books. Cool!
About the foreign language post - hey we only speak Cat and English here!
Way to go on the bike, girl! I've always wanted a bike but was alternately either too poor or too chicken. It must be an awesome feeling if you can get use to the noise. I think the ultimate bike would be silent and you could cruise down the Pacific coast highway like you were floating on air!
Yey you for getting back on the iron steed :-)
And I'm with you on Star Trek - it's one of very few I'd quite happily see again in the cinema. Definitely getting the bluray when it comes out.
Oh and hopefully the nerves will be easier to shake the next time you get on the bike. It was that way for me and the cricket - I'm glad I had a chance to bat again the season I got hit so I could start tackling any issues before they got chance to fester over the offseason.
The last couple times I've gotten on it there have been no nerves. Though I'm starting to realize more than half of it is that I don't enjoy it the way I used to. It's still fun, just not OMG FUN!
