Being the deductive person that I am, I figured someone needed my attention, and stopped.
It was like this, but...not... |
Fake tan gone wrong?
I glanced at the kid; maybe 6 years old, hanging on the rope dividing my swimming lane from the rec area of the pool.
In that entire area, there were maybe 2 two more people; hard to tell because I didn't have my glasses on. But that kid had been hanging on the rope for a good ten minutes and she obviously hadn't felt pressed to move him elsewhere in the vast nothing of that side of the pool.
I'm not a wild swimmer. I'm slow. Slow doesn't create much in the way of splatter. But holy hell, her kid was in a swimming pool and HE WAS GETTING WET.
Clearly I was at fault.
So I said the only thing one should say in such a situation.
"Get over it."
I will be so glad when school starts back up...

Yes I'm sure there is no other way her child could have gotten wet. Were you swimming in the litter box again?
"...her kid was in a swimming pool and HE WAS GETTING WET"
I do so love reading your blog. :)
At my old gym (which I can't afford now that hubby is jobless) children under 16 were only allowed on Sundays during family day. I never went that day, and not because of the kids but because of the insane parents. I love your response. Sadly, someone might shoot you for it here in Flint Michigan area. I loved the line "get over it!" and I will remember to use it myself.
How many kids splash other people because they think it is fun but cry to Mom when they get splashed. THat mom and kid need to get a life!
Ah, another mom being the perfect role model to her child...in how it really is 'all about me!'
Love your response.
hahaha!
Get a life lady!
(not you Thump ... the mom!)

LOL...I love it! Get out of the pool if you don't want to get wet.
Love your response. You should have dunked them both! But then you might have gotten kicked out of the pool, for good.
Who knew that one would get wet or splashed in a swimming pool?
That story is hilarious! Thanks for sharing, it made my day!
