Bear in mind I am night blind...

After I'd headed off to go to bed last night, I realized I was pretty freaking thirsty, and bathroom water was not going to cut it. I wanted something ice cold, so I headed for the kitchen. Now, I didn't turn a light on because 1) I know the way and 2) there was enough light bleeding trough from the front porch light.

I got to the kitchen entry and blocking my way was a stubborn black kitty.

I asked him to move so I wouldn't step on him.

He didn't budge.

I asked him again.

Not a twitch.

I told him to move or I would pick him up and dip his feet in the water bowl.

Nada.

So I bent over to pick him up and consider dipping at least his tail in the water.

I was threatening a black Walmart shopping bag.

Just to get even, I kicked it.

XD I feel better about mistaking a pair of jeans for my Jasper.

Ha Ha Ha! Yep, I've mistaken white plastic shopping bags for Mohawk.

And I occasionally still do, even though he's been at the Rainbow Bridge since January 2002.

Meanwhile, Max and Buddha watched the whole scene from across the room snickering...

The things we put up with for that which we think we can't live without ... Anybody want a [w]ho-tat? ;D

I have been known to greet boots or shoes that are laying by the door and yesterday I greeted a pile of laundry "Hi sweetie".

Too funny. You sound like mr. kenju when he doesn't wear his glasses (or even when he does).

I can totally see that happening to me. I am more likely to not see Herman lying on the carpet and give him a toe nudge. I walk very carefully now.

Was there a black kitty around laughing at you?

I'm night blind too & it's a good thing Q2 has a lot of white in her because just as my brain & eyes are registering the thought, "Is that something white in the doorway?" and SQUISH....I step/kick the poor girl.

Ha ha :-)

This time of year, if I go for the Midnight Munchie or Dawn Drink, I'd trip over a cricket bag.

I daren't kick that, in case foot hit bat. Possibly worse, bat could trap and hook foot and I know from experience that the walls of my house are harder than my head.

I thought for sure you were going to say you kicked a skunk that somehow got in (and that Max and Buddah were smart enough to hide from).

I'm night blind, too, and probably would have done the same thing...only with more swear words. ;D

This was too funny. I will have to share this one with my mother, she will get a kick out of this one. She won't feel alone anymore..course then again, I tell her I do the same thing and she says I am being nice because I am her daughter!
