I stopped at McDonald's during my walk today, as I usually do; I want the a/c and the $1 giant-assed drink and a chance to sit for a few minutes before pushing on. As I sat there sipping on my Diet Coke, a kid across the dining room kept staring at me, intently focused on my lower legs.
Now, I have fat calves. I know that, I'm okay with that; they've always been big, even when the rest of me wasn't. But it was a little odd to have this kid just staring, like he'd never seen someone else's shins before.
I got up to refill my cup, and as I passed he said, seemingly puzzled, and with a thick southern accent, "Yo right laig is bigger'n yo left laig."
If I'd taken a sip right then, I would have choked on it.
He wasn't trying to be mean or rude; he seemed truly curious about why someone's legs would be differing sizes.
And you know I kept looking at them on the rest of my walk, trying to figure out if the kid was right.
I think he might be.
Mah right laig, it's a mite bigger'm mah left, Ah think...

From my son, in Target in a piping little 3 year old voice: "Mommy, why is your hair a different color than it was yesterday?" The stares and stiffled giggles from the other Moms were priceless. How old was the boy staring at your legs?
Maybe yor right laig was *closer* to the boy than yor laift laig.
That's perspective, I say, perspective, son.
It's somewhat normal to be different from side to side--but I think the other commenter who was saying one leg may have been closer probably has a piece of it--I doubt he could really tell (and maybe that left laig was a bit in shadow too...)
The kid obviously needs glasses!!
He was only about 7 years old...it was like the idea that someone could possible even have differing leg sizes was incredible. Kind of funny, considering...
And kids have no fear of speaking that mind!
Well, he gave you something to think about for the rest of your walk.
Just as an FYI, you might want to measure it to be sure, and if they are different sizes, you might want to go get it checked out at the doctor. Different sized calves can indicate a blood clot.
